Leave Fes and cross the Middle Atlas, passing the cedar forests near Azrou and stopping around Midelt. Descend through the Ziz Gorges and its palm-filled valley, continue via Erfoud, and arrive in Merzouga beside the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night in the guesthouse.
Day 02Merzouga - Erg Chebbi - Merzouga. Camel ride & night in in the desert camp in the middle of the sand dunes.
Discover the landscapes and communities around Merzouga before preparing for the desert crossing. In the late afternoon, ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes, watch the colours change at sunset, and spend the night in a camp among the sand dunes.
Day 03Merzouga - Rissani - Todgha Gorges - Dades Gorges. Night in the guesthouse.
Leave the dunes of Merzouga after breakfast and travel through Rissani and the palm landscapes of the Tafilalt. Continue to Tinghir for a walk through the towering Todgha Gorges, then follow the road of kasbahs to the Dades Valley for the night.
Day 04Dades Valley - Nomad caves - Ouarzazate. Night in the Riad.
Explore the Dades Valley and its dramatic rock formations before visiting nomadic families who still live in caves in the surrounding mountains. Continue through the southern kasbah landscapes toward Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night.
Day 05Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountain - Ouzoud Waterfall. Night in Riad.
Travel from Ouarzazate to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou and explore its earthen lanes and kasbahs. Continue through changing Atlas landscapes toward the Ouzoud Falls, arriving in time to settle into your riad near the waterfalls.
Day 06Ouzoud Waterfall - Marrakech. Night in the Riad
Spend the morning enjoying the paths and viewpoints around the Ouzoud Falls, where water drops through a red-rock gorge surrounded by olive trees. Later, return across the countryside to Marrakech and check into your riad.
